What can I put in to my Brown Bin?
The following can be accepted:
Garden waste
Weeds / Plants / Flowers
Small branches
Grass cuttings
Hedge cuttings
Prunings

What can I not put in to my Brown Bin?
We will NOT accept:
Stones and rubble
Kitchen and vegetable waste
Plastic bags
Old garden tools
Animal faeces

When will my Brown Bin be uplifted?
Brown containers will be serviced on your normal collection day, once every four weeks.
Contact Cleansing Services to find out your specific day.

What happens if my Brown Bin is full before my collection day?
Excess waste can be taken to one of the Recycling Centres . Alternatively, contact Cleansing Services and request an additional brown bin.

I don't want a Brown Bin; do I have to accept one?
If you do not have a garden which produces organic garden waste, you do not have to accept a Brown bin.

Is there a method of home composting available through the Council?
Yes! East Ayrshire Council in partnership with WRAP (The Waste & Resources Action Programme) offer a range of subsidised home composting bins to residents.
