Composting

What is composting?

Composting is the controlled break down of organic material such as grass cuttings, weeds, plants material, and vegetable peelings to produce a material suitable for putting goodness back into the soil.

Up to 30% of household waste is organic and can be disposed of naturally by either using your Council provided Brown bin for garden waste or by using a Home Composter.

Home composting is the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly way of reducing organic waste, with the added benefit of producing rich soil conditioning compost perfect for the garden.
