Commercial Waste

General Information

East Ayrshire Council is required to divert waste from landfill, thus reducing environmental impacts and disposal costs. This last aim has immediate consequences for the business sector, as the Council is committed to reducing the costs associated with waste produced by businesses.

Whilst many waste disposal companies have one fixed cost for collection and disposal, East Ayrshire Council have introduced a flexible charging system.

Each property is assessed for their individual waste needs and allocated the correct container varying from an individual 140L bin to a 1280L bulk bin. Green Commercial Sacks can be purchased and used if the waste produced is in smaller quantities.

Although you are not required to use this service the Council would recommend that your business considers storage arrangements for separating and recycling some of your waste products.
