Will the Council accept animal bones or by products in commercial waste?
East Ayrshire Council cannot accept under any circumstances any animal by products or bones. Any butchers requiring further details of how to deal with this type of waste can contact a Commercial Waste Officer at Cleansing Services.


 

How do I dispose of hazardous waste?
East Ayrshire Council cannot accept under any circumstances special or hazardous waste with Commercial or Domestic refuse collections. Any item deemed hazardous such as asbestos, car batteries etc must be dealt with within EC Directives .


 

Will the Council uplift clinical waste?
East Ayrshire Council only collects Grade E Clinical Waste e.g. dressings and incontinence pads. All other clinical waste must be dealt with within EC Directives.

 


 Do my business rates payments cover me for the collection of commercial waste?
No, your business rates do not currently include payment for trade waste collection and disposal.


Where can I get more information about my waste responsibilities as a business?
Scottish Enterprise has lots of information on waste management and environmental issues.


 

What are my options if I have limited space for storing refuse/recycling bins on my premises?
Contact a Commercial Waste Officer for assistance in this matter. Bins cannot be stored on public roads or footpaths.
