What is the SHOUT card?

The SHOUT card is a membership card designed specifically for children in P1 - P7 living within East Ayrshire. It is based on the well-established Young Scot card, which is available to all young people aged 12 - 26 years.

Aim of the SHOUT card

The aim of the SHOUT Card is to improve the health and well being of primary school children and young people. This will be achieved by ensuring that all children will have the opportunity to access a wide range of services which have a direct impact on their health and well being; and by ensuring that cost is not a barrier to them accessing these services.

The Recreation Partnership Project will be responsible for the administration and distribution of the SHOUT Card, supported by East Ayrshire Council, the Community Regeneration Fund and NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

Benefits of the SHOUT card

SHOUT Cards will be issued FREE to all primary school pupils in East Ayrshire and will allow the card holder to receive a number of benefits.

  • SHOUT Cardholders will be able to access a wide range of physical and cultural activities either free of charge or at a discounted rate e.g. Kids Clubs, sports coaching sessions
  • SHOUT Cardholders will receive a joining pack explaining the benefits of the card in greater detail
  • SHOUT Cards can be used as a library card
  • SHOUT Cardholders will receive discounts and special offers at various local retail outlets and events
  • SHOUT Cardholders will get the chance to be part of a unique reward scheme (being launched June 2006)
