- events & activities
Many exciting activities take place in Community Libraries throughout
the year. For information on current library events and activities click
on the Council's Events Database.
Storytelling Sessions
Aimed at 4-8 year olds these after school sessions are available throughout
the year in selected libraries.
Kidzone
This is an after school club specifically aimed at primary age children.
During 8 weekly sessions young people can explore what their local library
has on offer under the guidance of library staff. Activities include arts
& crafts, storytelling, book talks, homework help and computers. See
library staff for more details.
Summer Reading Initiative
All Community Libraries participate in a summer reading scheme to
encourage the reading and visits to the library during the summer break.
The scheme is open to all young people and runs from June until the end
of August.
