LIBRARY, REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION SERVICES

Heritage - Family History

Large collections of family history material may be found at the Baird and Dick Institutes. These collections include births, deaths and marriages before 1855 (Old Parish Registers), everyone living in Ayrshire between 1841-1901 (Census returns), gravestone inscriptions, directories, newspapers, indexes to the births and marriages in the Old Parish Registers and for some Census years. A small collection of material is held for places outwith Ayrshire.

Microfiche/film readers are available for use within the Baird and Dick Institutes. Although use is free booking is advisable.
