Burial Administration Service
East Ayrshire's Bereavement Services are located at Western Road, Kilmarnock,
KA3 1LL. The main purpose of the service is to administer current burials
- so staff may not have time to search records immediately for family
history researchers. There is a cost for searching public records per hour or part thereof although the first 15 minutes
are free.
For further information, to make an appointment, or to request a search
please telephone (01563) 554775 or (01563) 5547776, or e-mail bereavementservices@east-ayrshire.gov.uk
Resources
Note - the records held by the Burial Administration Service are fairly
patchy and some have major gaps in coverage - therefore the start dates
below are for guidance only. The inclusion of a town in the list below
does not mean that East Ayrshire Council holds burial records for all
the cemeteries/churchyards in the town. The records held for most of the
towns are kept up to the present day. Some of the records are indexed
- but normally you will need a date of death if you request a search in
the records. If an entry is found it usually includes details of everyone
buried in the grave, when they died, and their age at death.
