Street care and cleaning

Street care and cleaning in East Ayrshire is carried out by the Outdoor Amenities section of Leisure Services. A new unit called StreetScene has been established which incorporates street cleaning with grounds cleaning. The service undertakes a wide range of duties including grass cutting, street sweeping, litter removal, graffiti removal and responds to reports of fly tipping.

Employees have state of the art equipment and machinery to enable a better cleaning service, including specialist machines for the removal of gum from our pavements.
