Abnormal loads
East Ayrshire Council's Roads and Transportation Services section is responsible for approving the movement of heavy, wide and long abnormal indivisible loads throughout the road network.
Hauliers moving abnormal indivisible loads are required under section 44 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 to give notice to the Council of their proposed load movements to allow assessment of the suitability of bridges and roads on the route for the passage of these vehicles.
