Make it Kilmarnock is a community initiative established to stimulate the economy of Kilmarnock.
Aims

to develop Kilmarnock as a dynamic business community where people want to live, work and visit

to create career opportunities for everyone, building on attitudes of success and achievement, especially among young people
Make it Kilmarnock is based on four inter-connecting strategic themes
Vibrant Heart
- creating a town centre that is lively, appealing, attractive and safe for residents and visitors alike
Business Nurture
- developing a business community that is engaged, encouraged, accommodated and respected
Education Innovation
- encouraging a lifelong learning community with unique opportunities and first class facilities for study
Visitor attraction
- creating a quality visitor experience based on local heritage, culture, shopping and hospitality
The initiative is led by a joint public and private sector Strategic Advisory Board accountable to East Ayrshire Council. The Board’s role is to

Core to the future is a fast-tracked, Integrated Urban Development Plan which will set a new context for future development of the central area of the town, covering land use, streetscapes, traffic management and green space and other aspects of transforming the physical appearance of the heart of the town.
