You can now lodge your planning application online through ePlanning Scotland. This is a national portal involving all planning authorities in Scotland which receives applications and appeals online and transfers the processing of planning applications from paper to electronic media.
An overview of ePlanning (youtube hosted video)
By registering you can now make a planning application or appeal via the internet.
The ePlanning Online Planning Information System (OPIS) publishes application records, documents and plans for public view.
If you are interested in any application - whether a householder alteration or major retail development, you can now search and view plans and associated documents online and track those applications from validation to decision. You can access OPIS via the external link on the right hand side.
Benefits of ePlanning
The system is able to receive online comments. All comments are made available for the public to view online. When commenting on an application you should keep your comments to planning matters only and avoid using any potentially defamatory remarks for example about financial circumstances, criminal convictions or personal information which could lead to legal action being taken against you. East Ayrshire Council reserves the right to amend any comment and remove any defamatory statements brought to our attention. We recommend that you view the ePlanning Acceptable Use guide in the Further Information section on the right.

Applications prior to 1 January 1999
Please note that IDOX does not show applications prior to 1 January 1999 and therefore applications for opencast coal sites prior to that date have had their validation date amended to 1 January 2002 in order to allow the background papers including planning permission, plans etc to be viewed on line.
