New build properties - bin allocation
From 1 April 2011, the full complement of containers, relevant to the collection service to be provided, require to be purchased from Cleansing Services.
On a weekly basis, Cleansing Services will receive a list of all developments which have received full planning permission. As each property is due to be occupied for the first time, a Notification of Occupancy form is required to be completed and sent to Cleansing Services.
Containers will only be supplied to properties upon receipt of this form.

all containers provided to new occupiers MUST be supplied by Cleansing Services to ensure Health and Safety considerations and conformity to lifting equipment are met. Failure to supply the correct containers will result in the non collection of containers

with the exception of communal waste areas, which will have been identified and agreed at planning application stage, a typical residential property requires 1 x 240L green bin (residual/rubbish bin), 1 x 240L blue bin (paper/cardboard), 1 x 240L brown bin (green garden waste) and 1 x 55L black box (glass/cans/household batteries/aerosols)

if the developed property is initially occupied during April to December 2011, and the property is within the food and plastics kerbside collection trial, the containers required for this additional service only, will be supplied free of charge by Cleansing Services

the purchase cost will be the supply cost incurred by the Council plus a 10% administration fee. For indicative purposes a per property cost in March 2011 is £62.58
Developers are required to notify occupancy on a per property basis, and an invoice will be issued accordingly. For self build/owner occupiers, an option to pay by card is available.
