A burglary, a fire, or even a burst pipe can leave you with expensive repair or replacement costs.
Even smaller incidents like a freezer breaking down spoiling the contents, or a washing machine overflowing causing water damage to your carpet, can cause damage that’s costly to fix.
That’s why contents insurance is important. It helps cover the cost of repairing or replacing your belongings when unexpected things happen.
Contents insurance scheme
We work together with Thistle Insurance Services to offer an affordable Contents Insurance Scheme for Council tenants.
The Contents Insurance Scheme is:
- especially designed for Council tenants
- good value for money, and
- can be paid weekly weekly the same as your rent
What the scheme covers
The scheme offers two basic cover options:
-
Standard cover.
-
Standard cover, plus extended accidental damage cover for an additional cost.
Both options insure the contents of your home against loss or damage caused by fire, flood, storm, theft, escape of water and other similar causes.
Optional extended insurance cover
For an additional premium, you can extend your policy to include:
- loss or damage to personal items outside your home, including pedal cycles and sports equipment
- specific cover for wheelchairs and motorised scooters for a further additional premium
Whether you rent or own your home, it’s important to have the right insurance to protect your belongings, and your property if you’re a homeowner.
Please note: No insurance can cover every possible situation, so always check the policy details.
