Housing allocations
East Ayrshire Council owns 13,000 houses and each year some 1400 properties are allocated to people on the waiting list. To make sure that the waiting list is operated quickly and fairly we have an allocation policy in place to match the people on the list with houses that become available to let.
There are also several Housing Associations which provide housing for rent in East Ayrshire and their details can be found under further information.
Later this year we will launch the Single East Ayrshire Register for Community Housing (SEARCH). This register will make it easier for people to apply for social housing in East Ayrshire as you will only need to fill in one form to apply for housing with the Council and a number of local housing associations.
