Homeswapper
The Council and its Common Housing Register (CHR) partners - also known as SEARCH - have introduced a new scheme to assist tenants wishing to exchange their house with another CHR tenant or a tenant of another local authority or housing association.
This new mechanism for exchanging houses is known as Homeswapper and is a web based system hosted by a partner organisation. All charges for CHR partner tenants are free.
Tenants have to first register on the Homeswapper website then complete the details of their own properties and finally indicate the types of properties they would like to be matched with and the area(s) they would like to be housed within.
Acceptance of an exchange will still have to be agreed between both landlords before any exchange will be permitted.
