Our Recreation Partnership Service engages children and young people aged 5-18 years in health related activities. We aim to increase physical activity levels of children and promote healthy, active lifestyles, helping to reduce health inequalities amongst East Ayrshire’s children and young people. A number of community clubs are provided throughout East Ayrshire and include:
The CHAMPS club
(Challenging, Health, Arts, Movement, Play and Sport) is a club which is run specifically for kids with additional support needs. It offers a relaxed, supportive environment for children and young people to try games, sports and arts activities.
The integrated DRAMA club
This is an integrated club which provides an introduction to drama, self expression and acting skills. The activities are run in a fun, informal style allowing children and young people to grow in confidence each week, improving on speech, body language and social skills.
The SOFA club
(Sporting Opportunities For All) is a dedicated sports club, where qualified coaches run sports specific sessions for children with additional support needs. Children and young people learn new skills, building them gradually and incorporating them into full games. Sports include football, basketball, BOCCIA, athletics and many more.
