Two short dramas called ‘Bobble Hat or Bust’ which highlight how some adults can be at risk of harm from people they consider to be friends will be taking place in East Ayrshire over the next few weeks.
East Ayrshire Adult Protection Committee in collaboration with Crossreach (Morven Centre), The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and the East Ayrshire Carers Forum are hosting the drama by local company ‘On The Ferry Productions’ which is humorous at times but also contains a strong message.
As well as the drama, there will be music from a local group and the evening will end with a panel discussion which gives the audience the chance to discuss the drama and ask questions about the work of the Adult Protection Committee.
A DVD of the drama has already been produced and will soon be available to local groups and organisations across East Ayrshire for discussion sessions or training with adults who may be at risk of harm.
The first show will take place in Netherthird Community Centre, Ryderson Avenue, Cumnock on Thursday 22 March at 7pm and the second show is in St Josephs Campus, Grassyards Road, Kilmarnock on Wednesday 28 March at 7pm. Anyone is welcome to attend; entry is free and tea and coffee will be provided.
