Loading and waiting restrictions for Kersland Gait

30 Jan 2012 16:09:09

Stewarton’s Kersland Gait is set to benefit from parking restrictions following a number of complaints from local residents about vehicles parking on-street for long periods of time.

No waiting and no loading restrictions will now be applied to Kersland Gait from the junction at Vennel Street to the traffic calming measures which narrow the carriageway to a single lane.

Councillor Bobby McDill, Spokesperson for Delivering Community Regeneration said: “It is essential that there is good visibility on this stretch of road for the traffic calming measures to work effectively. Many people have been parking between the junction and the start of the calming features for long periods of time which has caused a real problem for residents. We have listened to their concerns and have taken action to resolve this issue.”
