Council publishes spending details

East Ayrshire Council is taking part in a Scottish Government initiative to publish details on all spending over £1000.
The Council already provides the Scottish Procurement Information Hub with information on what it spends, and this is enhanced using company information from commercial databases.
The information for the financial year 2010/11 is currently available, and can be viewed at www.east-ayrshire.gov.uk/spotlightonspend/ or directly from the link on the Council’s main web page. Any queries can be e-mailed to procurement@east-ayrshire.gov.uk and a member of the Procurement Team will respond to you.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Douglas Reid said: “East Ayrshire Council is committed to being open and transparent wherever possible and this new initiative is just another way to demonstrate this commitment. By making the information available online, people will be able to gain a better understanding of where, and how, their money is being spent.”
Note to editor:
Entries marked as ‘redacted’ are those where the name of the supplier is an individual person, and therefore their identity, but not the amount, requires to be withheld to comply with data protection legislation.
Expenditure is categorised on the website by commodity or service provided. This information comes from supplier databases, such as the Thomson’s Local Directory, and may not necessarily relate to the purpose of East Ayrshire Council incurring the spend.
