Plans, policies and strategies

The services delivered by the Council and its partner organisations are governed by a wide range of plans and policies. Working with our Community Planning partners, we produce the Community Plan to drive all the projects that contribute to our joint objectives, and the Single Outcome Agreement to show whether or not we have achieved our goals.

All services within the Council are managed in part through the individual Service Plans, which are subject to regular scrutiny.

In addition to these standard plans and reports, the Council has a range of plans, policies and strategies that are based on a particular activity. These include topics such as Housing, Leisure and Young People. A full list can be found below.

Best value and performance

The Council's Best Value and Performance Section makes sure that we are constantly improving the way we do things. It provides assessments and reports on whether or not we are meeting the aims of our plans and policies. Information on the work of the section can be found by following the link on the left.

Decision making

All of the key plans and policies within the Council must first of all be agreed by Cabinet. Scrutiny of performance is carried out by the Council's Governance and Scrutiny Committee. For further information on this, please follow the link to the 'Committees' web page.
