We provide catering, cleaning, janitorial and school crossing patrol services across East Ayrshire working across all departments of the Council.

Our cleaning operations cover 195 premises, of which 54 are educational establishments and 15 are community centres; offices, nurseries and other public buildings form the remainder. Some additional work is undertaken which is external to the Council, such as the cleaning of police stations. 

We provide catering for 110 locations, of which 46 are production kitchens, mainly in schools and social work units. The rest include staff dining facilities, adult training premises and nursery services.  Onsite catering is also responsible for the Council’s Lunch Club, daycare meals provision and additional special catering for meetings and functions. Over 18,000 meals are provided daily.

We provide a caretaking / janitorial service to all our schools and main council offices, with 93 staff in 73 locations.

We provide school crossing patrol services at 63 locations across East Ayrshire.

Transport services

We co-ordinate and manage the transport service through agreements with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) which provides the Council with a comprehensive range of services to support the provision of home to school transport in East Ayrshire. These include:

• route planning service
• comprehensive procurement service including tendering, analysis and awarding of mainstream school transport contracts
• complaints management service
• contract monitoring and vehicle inspection service 
• liaison with/payment of transport operators
• quality reporting carried out at quarterly intervals
• provision of helpline for pupils/parents
• policy advice and advice on transport legislation
• ICT software to support the above activities

We also provide services to social work service users, mainly with transport to and from daycare centres.
