Local Community Planning Forums
In 2007/08, the Council reviewed its decision making structure. This led to the establishment of Local Community Planning Forums which strengthen and increase local community representation in Community Planning and decision making.
Our Forums allow everyone to participate effectively and allow for creative thinking and focus on strategic issues.
Membership of the Local Community Planning Forums includes all Elected Members from the various Wards, Community Planning Partners and community representatives through the Federation of Community Groups and the Equalities Forum and the voluntary sector.

Community Representatives have been appointed from the Federations of Community Groups within East Ayrshire to serve on each of the Local Community Planning Forums and all community groups within East Ayrshire are being encouraged to register with the Federation of Community Groups.
The purpose of the Federation is to ensure the involvement of Community Representatives in the Community Planning process at a strategic level, through the Community Planning Partnership Board and at local level, through the Local Community Planning Forums. In addition, the Federations will have responsibility for ensuring that effective processes are in place to provide feedback to member organisations and their local communities about the activities of the Local Community Planning Forums.
Any community organisation wishing to become a member of the Federations of Community Groups can do so by contacting the Coalfield Communities Federation for the Southern Forum or the North Communities Federation for Central North, Central South and Northern Local Forums.
