Consultation on education
Occasionally, we may require to consult on the future of education provision at schools. This would involve plans to change the catchment area boundary of a school or the future of an educational establishment.
Any consultation undertaken by East Ayrshire Council will be conducted in compliance with statutory requirements such as the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010.
In initiating a formal consultation exercise, we will issue a Proposal Document which sets out the options being consulted upon and the consequence for current and future users of the school building(s).
In the case of rural schools, the implications for the wider community of any proposed alteration to educational provision should also be considered.
