LEISURE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANTS BANK REGISTER

The Neighbourhood Services Department operates a Leisure
Development Assistants and a Community Recreation Workers Bank Register,
which act as banks of workers who may be employed on a sessional basis,
or to provide cover.
These posts are designated "child care positions"
in terms of the Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003. The Disclosure
procedure will include checks against the "Disqualified from Working
with Children List" and associated lists.
Bank Register workers come from a variety of backgrounds and many have
a sound knowledge of child development and have experience of working
with children and young people on a paid or voluntary basis.
LEISURE DEVELOPMENT
Leisure Development Assistants work in the following areas:-
- CATCH Walk Leaders
- Kids Club Network
- Early Years Sessions
- CHAMPS and SOFA Clubs
- 1:1 additional support needs
- Cookwell sessions
- CHIP van
- Fitness Instructors
- StreetSport leagues
- Double dutch skipping and dance
- Basketball, Athletics, Badminton, Rugby and Football Coaching
- Adult Disability Sports Club
- Fun4Hire sessions

COMMUNITY RECREATION
Are you interested in working in the following areas?
Fitness Instructor – Should hold a valid gym instructors
or an indoor cycling qualification.
Caretaker – A reliable individual who is able to
work as part of a team carrying out various tasks including cleaning duties,
setting up and dismantling equipment. Must have good communication skills.
Dance Instructor – An enthusiastic individual with
extensive experience of coaching, teaching or performing Hip Hop, Street
Dance, Funky Dance, Cheerleading etc.
Funtastic Party Staff - Self motivated individual who
can interact well with both staff and children in the delivery of party
games including face painting and balloon modelling.
Leisure Attendant – Should hold a valid RLSS Lifeguard
Certificate and ASA or STA Swimming Instructors qualification.
Recreation Assistant - Knowledge of sport or play activities
or coaching qualifications advantageous. Good communication, organisational,
computer and administration skills essential.
A current driving licence would be desirable for all of the above. For
